In an effort to better serve students who require Developmental Math courses, the North Carolina Community College System has redesigned the Developmental Math curriculum across the state. Richmond Community College (RCC) now offers these courses at both the Main Campus (in Hamlet, NC) and the Honeycutt Center (in Laurinburg, NC). The new curriculum consist of a series of eight modular classes that span the content of the previous MAT 060, 070, and 080 courses. Each module is designed to be completed in a 4-week time period (5 contact hours per week), and will count as 1 credit hour. Students will have the opportunity to complete 4 modules (4 weeks per module) during one 16 week semester.
As before, students will be tested to see what module(s) they need to take, if any. Each student will then register for the DMA sections, up to four (4) total, to complete their math requirement for that semester.
Day and evening classes will be offered for each module, at a minimum of one time each semester.
Students encountering issues with the registration process should contact RCC’s Counseling & Advising Center: 910.410.1730
