of Operation Library User Survey - Click here for online survey Circulation Policy For registered RCC students, a current RCC ID is required to borrow library material. Residents of Scotland and Richmond counties who are not students may borrow library material with a valid North Carolina driver's license. Up to five books, and/or paperbacks are loaned for a two-week period and up to three Audio/Visual materials are loaned for a one week. Reference books, reserve books, magazines/periodicals and newspapers are not loaned. Loaned items may be renewed a maximum of three times unless someone has requested the items. Borrowers may come to the library or telephone (up to the day the items are due) to request a renewal. After the due date, the items must be returned to the library and fines paid before items are renewed. The fine for each overdue item is five cents per day, computed for those days the library is open. A replacement fee is charged for lost items. All library obligations must be cleared at the end of each semester. Student Conduct Smoking, eating and drinking are not allowed in the library. Cell phones and beepers need to be turned off or put on vibrate. The library is intended as a quiet area for reading, studying and research. Please exit the library should you need to answer or make a call. Respect those who use it for these purposes. Any patron found guilty of theft or mutilation of materials will be charged for damages or replacement of the materials and in turn will lose library privileges. Library Collection The library's collection includes over 30,000 books in its general, reference and special collections. The collection is arranged according to the Library of Congress Classification System. In order to provide access to additional resources either on-site or through interlibrary loan, the library participates in cooperative agreements with Cape Fear Health Sciences Information Consortium; Community College Libraries in NC; St. Andrews; UNC-Pembroke; Richmond and Scotland County public libraries. The library, located in the J. R. Conder Learning Resource Center, has a wide variety of magazines, newspapers, online databases to supplement the College's degree, diploma, certificate, and college transfer programs.
