Relive the biggest moments from the finest Broadway shows of the century Thursday, March 27, with “101 Years of Broadway” at the Cole Auditorium on the main campus of Richmond Community College.
Following the enthusiastic response to last season’s hit Broadway musical revue “100 Years of Broadway,” Neil Berg brings his latest production, “101 Years of Broadway,” an all new show with more of the greatest songs from hit Broadway musicals of the century. This highly anticipated return engagement features a dazzling cast of five Broadway stars accompanied by an all-star New York band.
Presented as part of the Dewitt Performing Arts Series, “101 Years of Broadway” recreates the biggest moments from the finest shows of the century featuring the actual stars of shows such as “The Phantom of the Opera,” “Les Miserables,” “Evita,” “CATS,” “Wonderful Town,” “Jesus Christ Superstar” and “Fiddler on the Roof.” These amazing performers light up the stage with songs from the hit shows in which they starred. Berg presents brilliantly revived arrangements of Broadway classics as well as thrilling songs from Broadway’s newest hit shows.
“‘100 Years of Broadway’ was presented at the Cole Auditorium in January 2012 and was one of the most requested shows ever for a return to the Cole,” said Cole Auditorium Director Joey Bennett. “‘101 Years’ is certain to be one of the highlights of this season.”
Although the conductor, pianist and narrator – Berg himself – remains the same, this show will be completely different from the recent “100 Years.” The success of the show can also be attributed to Berg, who as a talented storyteller and master of ceremonies, has created the amazing arrangements that will be performed.
Tickets for the show can be purchased by calling the Cole Box Office, (910) 410-1691. The show begins at 7:30 p.m.
