The Office of Institutional Effectiveness and Accountability promotes quality assurance and continuous improvement through research and analysis measuring the progress of the institution in meeting its goals. The Office provides the resulting management information to various constituencies as a basis for effective planning and decision making. The Office facilitates accountability by providing appropriate reports and information to both internal and external constituencies. The Office also provides centralized management of discretionary grants from exploration of potential interest through compliance reporting.

Richmond Community College’s Strategic Plan consists of the College’s mission statement, vision, and strategic directives with supporting goals. The mission is a concise statement what the college does and why. The vision defines future success. Each strategic directive describes a course of action that will allow RCC to better accomplish its mission. Goals are measurable objectives to be accomplished in support of the strategic directives. The Strategic Plan, in combination with annual planning guidance, which prioritizes effort, focuses resources on the goals and guides the activities of the organizational units of the College.
Because the opportunities and challenges facing RCC are constantly evolving, the RCC’s Strategic Plan is regularly reviewed and updated. The current Strategic Plan was reviewed and approved on April 12, 2012.
