| After clicking the login button, you'll be
taken to this login screen.
In the first box, you should enter your Blackboard Username. Your Username will be in the form of your First Initial, Middle Initial, and Last Name. For example, Mary Kay Smith, Student ID number 3456789, would enter mksmith. Should there be someone else with the same First Initial, Middle Initial and the same Last Name, your login will have a number after your last name. So, Mark Kayce Smith might have the username mksmith221. The Registrar's Office will provide you with your Username. The Username for BlackBoard is the same for e-mail and WebAdvisor. Your Password for BlackBoard and STUDENT e-mail is the same. For WebAdvisor you must request a password. The Password for WebAdvisor will be sent to your STUDENT e-mail. You can either use the Tab key or click with the mouse to move to the second box, the password box. Initially your password is your student ID Number preceded by rcc. In Mary's case, her password is rcc3456789 . You can then click the Login button (or just Enter)
If your login fails, the Username and Password boxes will be cleared. After successfully logging in, you will see the welcome screen. On the right side of the screen (under My Courses), you will see all that courses that you've enrolled in that are utilizing Blackboard. In the following example, Mary is enrolled in only one course, Personal Finance.
To work with a course, click on its link. In this case, Mary would click on the Personal Finance link under My Courses. After entering a course, the first thing you will always see are announcements. Always read these messages from your instructor carefully. Also, note the navigation links on the left side of the screen (Announcements, Course Information, etc.). You can move around within the course by clicking on these. After successfully logging in and entering your course, you're ready to begin working as your instructor directs you. NOTE: Although two courses may look a little different (different colors, for example), they all work the same way.
