Planning to Transfer to a College or University?

If you graduate from RCC in good standing with an Associate in Arts or an Associate in Science (College Transfer) degree, you are assured admission into one of the 16 University of North Carolina system schools. Admission is not assured to a specific institution, specific program, or major. There are also articulation agreements with many private colleges and universities in the state.

RCC is a great step to reaching your higher education and career goals. Tuition at a public university averages about four times more than the tuition cost at RCC. Add the cost of room and board, transportation, and fees, and you could save about $15,000-$20,000 by attending RCC for the first two years of your four-year degree.

Steps to Transferring to a Four-Year College

Plan & Choose a Field of Study

Choose the major you plan to take at the four-year college as soon as possible as most colleges and universities have major prerequisites and/or requirements that should be completed during your first two years at RCC. If you are not sure of a major, meet with a counselor in Student Development.

Once you have found an area of study, meet with an advisor to plan your course schedule, and pursue the AA or AS degree.

Research the College or University That You Would Like to Attend
