Your application will be processed by the Department of Education and you will receive your Student Aid Report (SAR) by e-mail or by mail. Your Student Aid Report (SAR) summarizes all the information you provided on your FAFSA. Your SAR will usually contain your Expected Family Contribution (EFC), the number used in determining your eligibility for federal student aid. Your EFC will appear in the upper right-hand portion of a paper SAR or an electronic SAR. You might not get an EFC if the Department of Education needs more information from you to process your data. You should review your SAR for any necessary corrections or updates. If you do not hear from the Department of Education within three weeks, go to www.fafsa.ed.gov ad select "Check the status of a Submitted FAFSA;" or you may call 1-800-4-FED-AID.
