Lab Use

Guided Studies Center Lab Usage

Guided Studies Center coordinators have an obligation to inform all visitors and make sure students are aware and comply with RCC policies.

Usage

In compliance with the RCC Safety Policy, all students and visitors must display visual ID while visiting the Guided Studies Center. Upon entry, registered curriculum students must visibly wear their student photo ID and login into the Guided Studies Center Tutortrac system.
Visitors must check in with the RCC Reception Desk to obtain a temporary visitor's pass; GSC personnel will request a photo ID for verification upon entry before the visitor signs into the GSC lab. All visitors will sign out of the Tutortrac system as they leave the GSC lab.
In compliance with the RCC Computer Usage Policy, (page 108 in the Student Handbook) internet usage is for valid academic purposes only. Non-academic sites unrelated to course work and usage of undesirable web sites can be cause for dismissal from the Guided Studies Center and/or denied access to computers on campus.

Student Conduct

In order to ensure that the academic environment is not compromised, cell phones and pagers may not be used to receive or send telephone calls, text messages, or pages while in the Guided Studies Center. No CD players, iPods, or other musical devices are allowed.
Smoking, eating and drinking are not allowed in the Guided Studies Center. Cell phones and beepers should be turned off, put on vibrate, and placed out of site before entry into the Guided Studies Center. The GSC is intended as a quiet area for studying, research and use of tutorial services. Please exit the building should you need to answer or make a call. Telephone conversations are amplified in the front foyer and should be taken outside.

Respect for other students in an educational environment is a social manner encouraged in the Guided Studies Center.
